For this design project, the client aimed to utilize a significant portion of their property. As avid golfers, they desired the installation of a practice course where they could work on long drives, approach shots, and putting. They also requested a sand trap to enhance the challenge. We opted for artificial turf for the green and tee boxes due to its ease of maintenance and consistent quality compared to live grass. Lotus Landscape contracted with a New England company specializing in the design and installation of artificial turf to ensure a durable and seamless result. However, the turf surrounding the green and tee boxes remained natural grass. The existing lawn was in poor condition, with coarse grass varieties and weeds prevalent. In the summer of 2023, we prepared the lawn by raking in loam and re-seeding in the fall. During the following fall season of 2024, we composted the grass, re-seeded, and rolled it to encourage improved growth in subsequent years.
