Residential Golf Course

For this design project, the client aimed to utilize a significant portion of their property. As avid golfers, they desired the installation of a practice course where they could work on long drives, approach shots, and putting. They also requested a sand trap to enhance the challenge. We opted for artificial turf for the green and some of the tee boxes due to its ease of maintenance and consistent quality. We kept the surrounding fairway natural grass. 

After thorough research, I found a New England company specializing in the design and installation of artificial turf, and we contracted them for the project. The existing lawn was in poor condition, with coarse grass varieties and weeds prevalent. During the Summer, we prepared the turf by raking in loam. We then seeded a quality grass seed in the fall. The following year we composted the grass, reseeded, and rolled it to encourage improved growth in subsequent years.
